Kittens have it rough

By Luke Smith on June 29, 2006 5:57 PM

Apparently God kills kittens for a variety of reasons. It seems kittens have graduated to the universal whipping boy. That's a bum rap if you ask me. For both God and kittens in general.

No Palladio

By Luke Smith on June 24, 2006 9:25 AM

Oh my sweet sweet serifed beauty, you are gone! I've just installed Windows over the top of my beloved linux box. It sucks not having enough money to build/buy another system. I knew it would happen, though it still pains me, but Windows, of course, doesn't have Palladio, one of my favorite serif fonts. I just can't bring myself to purchase it (see exhibit A: no money). Maybe I'll have to save up for it. Maybe I'll have to find a comparable font that's free. The face used in all my graphic text elements, including DrProlix and ...but I digress above and the category name to the right is Palladio L. It's a lovely humanist family with generous x-height, subtly sloping top serifs, and angular terminals. I dig the sharp drop serif on the roman b. And that's just the roman. I could opine for a while. *Sigh* I'm in the thick of a site redesign right now. I fear that soon it will disappear from my domain, since I won't have it on hand to properly dress up my serif heads. Here's hoping we cross paths again soon.
