I will never fax again
It's official. I'm never sending another fax. The technology is antiquated and the whole process is inconvenient and unnecessary.
I recently was asked to fax some paperwork. I scanned the documents and emailed a PDF, but for some reason that wasn't sufficient. So I got to interrupt my day with a drive to the nearest Kinkos to do the deed. After two failed transmissions, it successfully sends. I then wait a solid 3 minutes for the machine to print out a send receipt, whereby I take said receipt to the checkout, wait in line for another 10 minutes, and pay $9.50 for 6 pages. $9.50? You've got to be kidding me!
Seriously. WTF? Before burning my time, money, and fossil fuel for the errand, I was chatting and exchanging files with a bloke in the UK on Skype for free.
It's not like the documents received at the other end of a fax are originals, so why must anything be faxed? I gave up my land line years ago. Fax machines are about as appropriate to this day and age as rotary phones or a horse and buggy.
No more.
